How to treat your allergies without needles or shots when SHTF


If you have an allergy or asthma attack, you can normally rely on inhalers or shots to alleviate the symptoms, but if ever SHTF, you might not have access to such medications. How then will you be able to treat your allergies in the middle of a disaster scenario? Here are some natural remedies you can use as improvised allergy treatments in case SHTF. Allergies occur due to the body’s hypersensitive immune system mistaking harmless substances for harmful ones and reacting accordingly. Allergic reactions can be prevented by avoiding allergens or the substances that trigger them in the first place. This herb is a member of the ragweed family. As such, it is only helpful for those who are not allergic to plants from the ragweed family, such as marigold, daisy, and chrysanthemum. It is also not recommended for pregnant or nursing women, children, or people with kidney or liver disease.

Ginger

Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties and can be used to help alleviate stomach problems. Those with allergies or asthma associated with acid reflux can greatly benefit from using ginger. It can help relieve both stomach irritation and inflammation.

Turmeric

Turmeric is a popular herbal remedy that can be useful in treating asthma due to its anti-inflammatory properties. It can be used to help relieve swollen and irritated bronchial passages. As with other herbal remedies on this list, turmeric must also be used with caution.

Mullein

Mullein is one of the most common herbal remedies for treating asthma. Use mullein to help prevent respiratory infections that may lead to an increased frequency in asthma attacks and flare ups.

Stinging nettles

A herbal remedy derived from stinging nettles can be helpful in reducing inflammation and alleviating common allergy symptoms such as sneezing, nasal congestion, and itchiness.

Oregano

The trouble with asthma attacks often begin with the sinuses. Oregano is one of the few herbs that can directly affect the sinus tissue and help eliminate infections of the sinuses. Oregano can be used in different forms such as an herbal tea or an essential oil to be diffused into the air. It is important to use the oregano precisely as directed on the instructions. For instance, if you diffuse oregano oil into the air, make sure you do not have any cats or other pet animals in the area. Exposure to oregano oil and other similar herbal fusions may lead to liver damage in some animals. Oregano that is meant for the purposes of an herbal tea should also not be mixed up with the oregano that is meant to be diffused into the air.
